Der Herr lasse seine Augen ruhen auf uns,
die wir ihn liebhaben.
Er sei uns ein Beschützer
und eine mächtige Stütze.
Er schütze und behüte uns vor allem Bösen.
Er bewahre uns vor dem Straucheln,
er helfe uns vor dem Fall.
Er erfreue unser Herz
und mache unser Angesicht fröhlich.
Er gebe uns Gesundheit, Leben
und seinen reichen Segen.

Gebet
Gott,
Du kennst den Klang meiner Stimme
und hörst, wenn ich fröhlich oder traurig bin.
Im Orchester Deiner Geschöpfe will ich Dir musizieren.
Am Morgen will ich jubilieren wie ein Vogel für die Bewahrung in der Nacht
und will mit meinem Gesang den neuen Tag begrüßen.
Am Abend will ich staunen, danken und klagen im Blick auf das Tagesgeschehen und die Menschen, die mir am Herzen liegen.
Am Mittag will ich bedenken und besingen, was gewesen,
und will die Hoffnung tönen lassen:
ein Anklang dessen, was vor mir liegt.
Auch will ich meine Stimme erheben für alle,
deren Stimme erstickt ist.
Und in der Mitte der Nacht will ich schweigen vor Dir.
Vielleicht offenbarst Du mir im Traum,
wie das Konzert weitergehen soll.
So singe und spiele ich im Chor Deiner Geschöpfe.

Well, he came from college just the other day,

See you later. Can I have them please?"

I've long since retired, my son's moved away
I called him up just the other day

And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me,
He'd grown up just like me

Erst neulich kam mein Kind an
Er kam ganz gewöhnlich zur Welt
Doch da waren Flüge, die ich erwischen musste
Und Rechnungen, die bezahlt werden wollten
Er lernte laufen während ich weg war
Er konnte sprechen, bevor ich es wusste
Und als er größer wurde, sagte er
"Ich werde mal wie du, Papa
Du weißt, dass ich mal wie du werde.“
Und die Katzenwiege (Fadenspiel) und der silberne Löffel
"Komm kleiner Hirte“ und der Mann im Mond
"Wann kommst du nach Hause?"
"Sohn, ich weiß es nicht.
Aber dann werden wir etwas zusammen unternehmen.
Du weißt doch, dass wir dann Spaß haben werden."
Erst neulich wurde mein Sohn 10
Er sagte: "Danke für den Ball, Papa, komm, lass uns spielen.
Kannst du mir beibringen, wie man richtig wirft?"
Ich sagte: "Heute nicht
Ich hab so viel zu tun"
Er sagte: "Das ist schon in Ordnung"
Und er ging weg, und er lächelte und sagte:
„Ich werde mal wie er, ja
Du weißt, dass ich mal wie er werde“
Und die Katzenwiege und der silberne Löffel
"Komm kleiner Hirte“ und der Mann im Mond
"Wann kommst du nach Hause?"
"Sohn, ich weiß es nicht.
Aber dann werden wir etwas zusammen unternehmen.
Du weißt doch, dass wir dann Spaß haben werden."
Nun, erst neulich kam er vom College nach Hause
Schon ein richtiger Mann, deshalb musste ich einfach sagen:
"Ich bin stolz auf dich. Könntest du dich eine Weile setzen?“
Er schüttelte den Kopf und sagte mit einem Lächeln:
"Was ich eigentlich möchte, Papa, ist mir die Autoschlüssel leihen
Wir sehen uns später, kann ich sie bitte haben?"
Und die Katzenwiege und der silberne Löffel
"Komm kleiner Hirte“ und der Mann im Mond
"Wann kommst du nach Hause?"
"Sohn, ich weiß es nicht.
Aber dann werden wir etwas zusammen unternehmen.
Du weißt doch, dass wir dann Spaß haben werden."
Jetzt bin ich schon lange Rentner und mein Sohn ist weggezogen
Erst neulich habe ich ihn angerufen
"Ich würde dich gerne sehen, wenn du nichts dagegen hast"
Er sagte: "Ich würde ja gerne, Papa, wenn ich nur die Zeit dafür hätte
Schau, mein neuer Job ist stressig und die Kinder haben Grippe
Aber es war schön, mit dir zu reden, Papa
Es war wirklich schön, mit dir zu reden"
Und als ich den Hörer auflegte, wurde mir klar:
Er wurde so wie ich
Mein Junge war genau wie ich
Und die Katzenwiege und der silberne Löffel
"Komm kleiner Hirte“ und der Mann im Mond
"Wann kommst du nach Hause, Sohn?"
"Ich weiß es nicht.
Aber dann werden wir etwas zusammen unternehmen.
Du weißt doch, dass wir dann Spaß haben werden." (2x)
